The weekend is upon us!

Well, the quarter is finally over! Long live Q2! Tomorrow I turn 34. I don't know why our society idolizes youth to the extreme that it does. When you are in your thirties you still have your health, plus you often have: a loving wife, great kids, a decent house, a better salary than your average 20-something. And you don't have to go to class, take tests, do labs, etc. College life is overrated!

I got to exercise the new cable modem with the kids this evening. We went to Playhouse Disney for a while and spent a quick visit to PBSKids. Sites designed for kids are huge on the multimedia. I remember not wanting to go there before because the loading delays took away the fun. Now it was like playing an interactive CD-ROM with the kids. After the kids went down I was able to download and install Internet Explorer 5.5 in about 5-10 minutes. Wunderbar! I know that would have taken about an hour and a half otherwise. I could really get used to this! It's not a big deal for the sites I usually visit since they are more in text comment: news-y news and tech/geek news. Sites like WorldNetDaily, OpinionJournal and SlashDot. They all render just fine in text mode on this POS laptop that I'm writing from. The POS laptop is also the most common way that I write these updates, as I'm doing now. One shouldn't need an expensive computer to read and write text!

Tonight Michelle put a large batch of pictures into our photo album. I sent about 8 or so to Grandpa Bilik with a short letter. I know he can't see the pictures here easily since he doesn't own a computer.

Got to go for now. My eyes are getting bleary!
