Timothy's MRI visit

Posted by Scott at 07:42 PM

Today has felt like a very long day. At long last Timothy had his MRI this morning. I got up at 4:30 this morning and Michelle shortly thereafter. We had the kids out of the house a little after 6AM. Claire stayed with a neighbor until the school bus could pick her up. We took the middle three kids to Kathy's house and then brought Timothy to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in downtown Nashua. He was very good there despite being hungry and getting tired. Once he was admitted, screened, and given sleep medicine I left him with Michelle and went into work because from there it was just a bunch of "hurry up and wait". It took a while for Timothy to be alert enough to be dismissed. Michelle returned to Kathy's a little after noon. He's been groggy a lot today. When I got home he was having a bath but getting a little irritable. I think when the medicine wore off, it left him with a bit of upset stomach. Overall the hospital visit went well. There were no comments like "hmm, gee I've never seen that before" or "doctor, take a look at this" so I take that as a good sign. We also found out that his weight gain is settling down. He's gained about a quarter pound since last month. I attribute it to all the exercise he's getting now in his walker. He's scooting all around the house now. But since we all got up early, we're all tired and will be heading to bed now.

when do we find out if everything is okay?

Hi Suzy,

At the end of this month Michelle and I see the doctors for a consultation on how we should proceed. They've got all the info they should need: hearing tests, CT scan, MRI, general good health. I'm hoping it's not a big deal now outside the reconstructive surgery. I think that if there was any major cause for concern, they would have let us know by now.
