Almost Done

Posted by Scott at 09:47 AM

First of all, a very happy birthday wish to my beautiful niece Abby!!!

Here at ISU, we are quickly approaching finals week. I put the thesis to rest for two weeks so I could begin to work on my essays. For two of my classes, we were given a study guide with about 9 essays that we had to write out and memorize. The professor then picks three or four he will put on the test. Here is a link to one of those study guides. I told the teacher that his essays are considered "punishment for shoplifting in some countries". (that's a Wayne's World line if you didn't know) My time has been spent on this first study guide we received a while ago and we got our second set yesterday. So, most of us girls were panicked knowing we would have to write and memorize about 18 essays (but we did it for midterms!). Well, I did the first 9 from the first test and then last night when our teacher handed us the next set, he told us he decided to make it a take-home final!!!! All I have to do is write them out and hand them in, no memorizing! We all started cheering in our class, telling Dr Bergner that we loved him.

Both finals are on Monday, May 7th. That's kind of nice because that way I can focus the rest of my week on moving my stuff over to my new apartment. The place I am in now wants us out by that Friday. That is a pain in the neck! I guess they don't think that any of us would have to work that day or anything!! That's why I hope to get a lot moved out during the week. Seth's parents and my parents will both be down here so we are hoping to go to lunch together, as well. I will get to go home for one week and then I start my new internship on May 17th. My summer classes begin June 15th. That will be nice, though, since I will have a month to learn new stuff at Chestnut before I start learning Statistics! Yuk!

In other good news, Seth will be done with school for good on May 6th, the day of his last final. He will still be living down here, at least for over the summer, until he finds a new job somewhere else. His internship site said he could stay until August.

Back to work I go, have a great day!

Happy Birthday Abby!
Suzy- you sound really busy! Good luck! We are busy getting ready for Kyle's birthday too! Kyle took 10 steps yesterday- it's so cute because he gets so excited.
Scott, I know Abby got the e-card, but did she get the e-gift certificate too? I hope so!
Gotta go.

Yes, she got the gift certificate as well. I tried explaining it to her but she's never ordered anything online so it has no meaning to her... yet! I'm sure once we work with her to order some stuff and it comes a few days later, she'll get the idea.

Thanks again!

Good to hear from you, Suzy. I was starting to get concerning over how busy your schoolwork must be keeping you since you hadn't written in a while.

On this side of the nation, not much is new. Hence, not much to write. I've just been linking stories on the right sidebar. If I have a slow night, I may work on some photos.
