Déjà Vu

Posted by Scott at 04:21 AM

Storm - It's 4AM and it's been raining all night. It looks like it'll be raining a lot today. It reminds me a bit of last weekend as we waited all Sunday and Monday for the remnants of Hurricane Charley to move out of the northeast. Unlike last weekend this storm has had some major thunderboomers. I'm amazed the kids slept through so much of this.

Ordinary life - I haven't written this past week because for the most part life around the house has been on cruise control. The kids have been able to play outside a lot and made a couple more trips to the local pool. Thursday they got a visit from the Nixes and Friday evening Claire's best friend, Madison, slept over. The girls know that soon summer will be over and school will start in less than two weeks. Abby is excited to start school.

Penguins - While we have been enjoying the VeggieTales series of DVDs, I decided to try a newer series by the same company. The series is called 3-2-1 Penguins. It still is all based on computer generated animation and teaches important values while having a funny story line. Last night we watched the premiere episode, "Trouble on Planet Wait-Your-Turn". We enjoyed it a lot and will rent more from the series.

Timothy - There were points this past week where we had to wonder, if you fed Timothy a so-called energy bar, would he overload and have a meltdown?

Katie - If I don't get a chance to write again soon, Happy Birthday Katie!

Hey there!
Just wanted to let you kow- Kyle went for his 15 month check up last night (even though he is almost 16 months old), he weighs 28 1/4 pounds and is 32 inches tall. He also got another shot and was very unhappy about that.
Later,
Alyssa

Wow! So I guess we have "Turbo Timbo" and "Colossal Kyle". ;-)

Tomorrow in the early morning I take Timbo to a pediatric orthopedist. They want to look over a recent x-ray that seemed to indicate that two adjacent vertebrae may have not segmented properly during pre-natal development.

I did get word back that his kidneys are fine. No problems there, according to the ultrasound scans from last month.

Turbo Timbo has recently discovered how to handle door knobs with ease. Now nothing is safe. You can't secure a bedroom merely by closing its door.

Earlier this morning he was playing on the neighbor's porch because Abby stopped keeping an eye on him for a minute. It's as if you blink, and he's in the street. With his curiosity I hope he grows up to find a cure for something, because he can drive us crazy at times now.

We've developed what computer architects call a "watchdog timer". It's an alarm that goes off inside our heads if we haven't seen/heard Timothy in the last minute. Normally a watchdog timer is something built into high end computing systems to automatically detect when a computer has "hung" or locked up by detecting a prolonged lack of normal activity.
