No WiFi?

Tungsten T5 - I'd written some time ago that I was considering a Palm but felt that a new one was in the works and would be available soon. Sure enough, Palm announced the newest in the "Tungsten" line, the Tungsten T5. Unfortunately it has no built in support for wireless networking (Bluetooth doesn't count). Sorry, deal killer. No dice. Thanks for playing. Nearly everywhere I go has a wireless network: home, work, coffee shops, etc.

Planners - Instead last week I ordered a pair of Moleskine notebooks. I picked up the 2005 datebook planners. It's a bit luddite, anti-PDA, but it has it's own appeals (and no learning curve). I got the larger daily desk planner and Michelle the pocket weekly planner.

Weekend - Saturday was overcast and rainy, but the girls had fun with two friends from down the street. Sunday was gorgeous. I didn't wax the car but did prep the tractor by changing it's oil, oil filter, spark plug, air filter, etc. Although Daniel didn't actually do much, he kept me company and "helped papa". He seemed fascinated by working on all the internals under the hood. Michelle and I got a sitter and went out Sunday evening to Texas Roadhouse. Michelle finished painting our bedroom this weekend and is done with all of her painting. She is planning on picking up a border for the bedroom. She also wants to tack up some trim along the opening between the toy room and study.

Emacs - Hey, my favorite text editor, emacs, is today's Wikipedia featured article of the day. That's a rather nerdy article for Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia. For many a computer geek the choice of text editor is almost a religious belief. We do spend a lot of time typing after all. Back when all I had was a simple terminal at work, I did everything in emacs. It's abilities are amazing. You can get started in a day but find that years later you are still learning new things you can do in it.

Speaking of religion and politics, I still like CodeWrite and VI for shell-email.

Of course my heresy was purged in the great cleansing of the Nashua office by TDI. I'll fight on in the resistance though. (*smile*)

CodeWrite? Vi?

Such heresy!! Let him be anathema!

Considering some of the practices of the Irvine office, I think your usage of such tools was _not_ related to the "purging". ;-)
