Spring break

Posted by Scott at 07:02 AM

School vacation - This week NH elementary and high schools are off for spring break. Michelle will be home with Claire and Abigail as well as the three boys. At least now, unlike winter break, they should be able to play outside. It's also TV Turnoff Week. Milford and the Souhegan Valley Family Connection are both trying to provide plenty of ways to keep the kids busy to encourage participation in it. There's also a carnival in West Milford this weekend.

Meanwhile at work my immediate supervisor is gone for a week as well. So while Michelle could really use me at home as much as possible, the workload in customer engineering support will likely go up.

swatch watchSwatch - Feeling a bit retro, I ordered a classic style Swatch yesterday. I had one in late high school and undergrad. While many of the watches in Swatch's lineup are a bit exotic looking, they have been revamping a bit and bringing back some of the more understated designs.

Stove - Later this morning we're going to head over to Stove Keepers to pick out a second wood pellet stove. This one is for the basement. If you saw pictures of the basement and wondered why there was a hole in one wall, it's a chimney flue for the stove. We'll likely place a down payment today and do the rest in a few months.

Suzy - Congratulations again to Suzanne on finishing her comprehensive exams. A few weeks more and the Masters Degree will be in your hands. If it's anything like my last few weeks at Rose-Hulman, there's probably a lot of mixed feelings going around. I remember being excited that soon I'd graduate, but also sad that all the friends I'd known for years would all go their separate ways. Excited, yet sad. Strange that one can feel that way, eh?

In the end we went with another Harmon Accentra pellet stove, although this one is a free standing model, not a fireplace insert like our current one on the first floor. See it at:
