All Systems Go

Server - If you've tried reaching the site in the past day or so, you may have had slow response or no response. I won't go into the details but a few things converged. The administrator has been busy chasing them all down and things seem to be stable. Just like you have to deal with the ever escalating war of email spam, in the web server world, there are a bunch of similar scum that come up with ever more clever ways to hack into email, web, and database servers. I wish these guys would find some honest work.

Christmas - I'm done with work for the year. I almost feel like a college student who has just finished final exams. Over a week ahead of me with just my wife and children. No USB nothin'! No VHDL, no Verilog, no C++, no SystemC, no waveforms. Tonight I finished the assembly of the girls' gifts. Michelle and I watched some of Serenity while I was pounding nails and Michelle was wrapping a music keyboard that Katie got for Timothy. We're hoping that with this keyboard he can give our Yamaha a break.

Benedict - Have you seen this picture of the Pope wearing a traditional white fur-trimmed red bonnet known as a camauro? Not to be confused with a Chevy of similar name... I'll admit he's not quite as cute as Michael or Daniel, but hey, give the guy some credit.

Pope Benedict XVI

And to think that when he was elected, his detractors called him “God's Rottweiler” or “the Vatican's Pit Bull”. Yeah right!

Comments

Love this picture of the pope. Yes, it makes him seem a bit less Rotweiler and more Lassie. Can you imagine this great guy having such critics? A shame.
