and holding…

Evening update - In many ways today was a pretty typical day. I went into work as usual. Today I took my first step class at Gold's Gym in Marlboro. I signed up for a one year membership yesterday. I was missing my Merrimack YMCA fitness classes too much. It was so easy to go when I worked in Nashua. Since I started the job in February, I've been using our elliptical trainer once or twice on the weekday mornings and going to a step class or two at the YMCA on the weekends. But the elliptical trainer is so boring! Plus, when I wake up in the morning, it's hard enough to get out of bed, let alone be motivated to spend half an hour on a cardio machine.

Back at the office after the workout we had a lunchtime meeting to go over the roadmap of future opportunities for our handheld 3D graphics group. It is so overwhelming, it really is scary. We need resources! But it beats watching quarterly financial reports that are in the red or barely breaking even, wondering how much longer your job will hold out.

I left the office about half an hour early because co-workers advised me not to be on Route 495 at 5 o'clock the Friday before the 4th of July weekend. After having a bit of dinner, we put the boys down to bed. I ate a tiny birthday cake made by the girls with their EasyBake oven. They each made one layer: one white and one chocolate devils food cake. I played a bit of Super Mario Brothers on the Nintendo DS with Abby. I also showed her the many 'mini-games' that are bundled with the cartridge.

Once we got the girls down to bed, Michelle and I watched the end of Failure to Launch. I enjoyed Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and this "chick flick" had the same romantic comedy feel.

I don't know whether we have any major plans for this weekend. I am working on Monday, so it's not a four day weekend. I plan on taking the Jetta in for its first routine service tomorrow. We'll probably hit a pool once or twice. Of course, I'll have to mow sometime. Who knows, but at least it's not raining. It's been rainy or overcast for so many of the past several days, Michelle was about to go insane having the kids out of school but stuck inside. It was like Christmas break without the option to go sledding. Luckily we haven't had nearly the amount of flooding the mid-Atlantic states got. That was our situation last month!

Chris - Best wishes to my brother Christopher who joins me in the 30's but on the other end of the spectrum. Tomorrow he has his 29th birthday anniversary party. Or his second annual 29th birthday. Or... well, you get the idea. Have a great party Chris! I wish we were out there for it. My kids would love to use your pool. You'd be amazed at what maniacs the boys are now when they go in pools!

I am the bad sister who didn't wish you a happy birthday earlier- sorry! We had a great/busy day- Superman was great, but I'll let Tom give the review later, and then Andy threw up on the way home, and William did too once we got home- been a little busy! I hope you had an awesome day on your first annual 39th birthday!

They BOTH threw up!?! Was there kryptonite in the minivan? Or was it just that William smelled it from Andy and then in turn...

Either way, I'm so sorry to hear it... bleah!
