Dropped Claire off at school with an appropriate shirt for "Beauty & the Geek" dress day. (related link) Had a sunny commute in but missed my exit because I'm not used to the new location yet. Doh!
Adding to my "where is my mind today" antics, I loaded up my phone with podcasts, but didn't remember to bring a set of headphones with me.
Over lunch went to a local store to buy a cheap 2.5mm stereo headset for my cell phone. When I got back to the office, it doesn't work. The jacks are physically right, but electrically incompatible. Argh. Ordered a known good headset from Amazon...
I had a rare book on order for about six weeks. I recently got my money back because the package never arrived, but unfortunately now I can't find it in good condition for less than $100. I've tried (related link) and (related link) but no luck. sigh.
I've had enough fun for the week. Going to head home and hopefully not get killed merging onto Rt. 2 and I-495.
Had a smooth, sunny drive home with 67F temps. Sunroof weather! Claire was heading out to see a play at school as I pulled up.
A couple nights ago Abby was in near emotional meltdown because she was nominated to run for class president. Today they voted and she won! Needless to say, she's not as stressed out tonight. grin.
I'm running a classic Windows application on my Mac via Darwine. Somehow I feel like a traitor. I've done RemoteDesktop and seen using a virtual machine for running Windows under MacOSX. Darwine emulates the Windows API and fakes out the program that way.
It's 10 o'clock and yes, I know where my children are. I'm calling it quits. Otherwise I'll never get up for my workout tomorrow... G'night all!
