Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 09:06 PM

Good morning! I got the girls off to school. Came back to enjoy eggs, sausage, toast, OJ, and coffee. Yes, Michelle is firing on all cylinders again. How'd you know? She and her sister are taking the boys to school. I'll be VPN'd into work for the day. 8:26am

Yesterday was sunny and 63°F. Today it's still sunny but only 48°F so far. Much more chill, but unlike Chicago, it's not snowing... yet. ;-) 50/50 chance tomorrow afternoon/evening. 10:45am

Went to lunch with Michelle and her sister. Stopped for caffeine on the way back. So nice 'n sunny outside. Now they're prep'ing cookie dough and I'm back to work... 12:57am

After dinner (brought to us by Tamara Stearns Kucmas and her kids) we watched "Astroboy" with our kids. After I put the boys to bed we watched last night's "FlashForward". Sarah White Rolanti tells us it's the last one until March! Argh! What a cliffhanger! Good night all! 8:44pm

Bookmarks I made today:

Polanski Starts House Arrest in Ski Resort - NYTimes.com
Comment: "Oh, The Humanity!" Can we not show just a little more mercy to a child rapist? Gag. Please excuse me if I'm a bit bitter about this. I don't get to enjoy vacations at a ski resort, let alone "house arrest".
Excerpt: The director Roman Polanski was released from custody on $4.5 million bail and transferred to house arrest in the upscale ski resort of Gstaad Friday.

What Happens in the Holodeck
Comment: Gave me my morning laugh...
Excerpt: There's basically one thing humans are going to use that technology for once we get it. You know it, and I know it. And although we may now have altruistic aspirations and erudite ends in mind, more often than not in real life the holodeck technology would be used for a little thing we like to call ...

Sports Illustrated - Tablet Demo
Comment: Geeks say "tablet" and like a lot of other disruptive technologies, people don't "get it" until you see it in action. This 3 minute video shows some possibilities...
Excerpt: This collaboration between The Wonderfactory and Time, Inc. is an excellent example of how tablets will enable the creation of innovative, addictive experiences by publishers, media companies, and advertisers.
