Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 09:23 PM

Good morning! It's a beautiful spring day. 54°F, sunny, and the lawns are greening up around here. I just dropped all the kids off at their schools in the Bilik Berry Bullet. Michelle's teaching her Step & abs class. I'm VPN'd into work for the day. I'm thinking of digging up my form 'DD 214' to get one of NH's military service plates for the new van. 9:16am

If Jesus didn't rise, an even greater miracle happened: 12 relatively uneducated guys changed the world and were martyred to protect a lie. [Hat tip: Mark Hart]. 11:03am

Michelle's just ordered 3 tons of wood for next season. $249/ton. She pushed the delivery out to a month from now. 12:05am

Back from a date lunch and coffee run with Michelle. 70°F and sunny, definitely sunroof weather. 1:22pm

Back from a good Step & abs class. As often happens when the weather is temperate, the fitness studio was wicked humid because neither the heat or the A/C needs to run, which would help dry out the air. 7:03pm

While digging up my DD-214 (Military Service Records) I also came across my grad school transcripts. 2nd only to this past year in dealing with cancer, those grad school days seemed to drag on in slow motion. 17 yrs later I still have dreams about it. 8:05pm

My wife brought me a slice of one of my favorite desserts: eclaire cake. Or as my oldest daughter likes to call it: e-Me cake. It's an old family favorite that my wife learned from my mom. 8:19pm

Comment: I'm always fascinated with reports like this. It's interesting to me to see how far the competition is in catching up and where they may be ahead in terms of the chip design. [The Apple A4 is the "heart" of the new iPad]
Excerpt: We partnered with the best company in the semiconductor reverse engineering trade, Chipworks, to bring you a closer look at how semiconductor teardowns are conducted, as well as a peek inside the iPad's chips.
