Short Updates

Good morning! Smooth commute down to Boxborough. Listened to old time radio dramatizations of St. Martin De Porres, St. Mary of Egypt, and Charles Carroll of Carrollton along the way. (related link) Michelle is sub'ing for a Step instructor this morning. 8:55am

'Twilight' series popular with Gitmo detainees. I guess at this point they're desensitized to torture. (related link) [via @andylevy] 3:49pm

I am so, so tired of source code that does something you wouldn't expect and doesn't tell you why it needs to do it. 3:58pm

For every cell phone in 1990, there are >370 now... (related link) 4:36pm

Smooth commute home. Started to listen to "Power Grab", a book I bought a few months ago but left idle a while due to "Anna Karenina". 7:16pm

Doing more experimenting with podcast catchers for Android. Last night/this morning I tried out the free Google Listen, but it can not handle podcasts that require username/password authentication (ie. podcasts you pay for). Tonight I'm trying a recommended $$ program called Doggcatcher. Looks far more configurable. So far so good... 8:36pm

The oddest story I saw today: Anime legend Hayao Miyazaki finds "iPad use is disgusting". (related link) "It's disgusting. On trains, the number of those people doing that strange masturbation-like gesture is multiplying." I'll never be able to watch an iPad user the same way again. 9:02pm
