Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Busy day ahead. Claire is going to Canobie Lake Park today. Michelle took the rest of the kids with her to the YMCA where she'll teach her Step II class. I'm VPN'd into work from home today, doing more graphics debug. 8:49am

My early feedback on using Walgreen's photo services: the upload, edit, and ordering interface is fine. The slideshow mode turns the quality down so far every photo looks blurry. I turn the resolution and quality down on my web albums too, but Walgreens seems to take it too far. We'll see how the actual prints do this afternoon. 9:32am

Was looking at the website front page and noticed it said, "Today is Grandpa Tesoriero's Birthday." If the script were smarter (and I was paying attention), it would say, "Today would be Grandpa Tesoriero's Birthday." RIP Grandpa T! I reminded Michelle to call her grandma today if the kids will give her a few minutes of peace. 10:53am

Movie trailer: Blood Money. Think of "blood diamonds" but in our own country. 2:26pm

Good news/Bad news. Good: It looks like the Y's pool will be open on Monday morning/Labor Day. Bad news: It looks like Michelle's Kindle, although it arrived in Londonderry 3am this morning, won't be here until tomorrow. Not sure how FedEx works, but oh well... 2:28pm

Talk about unintended consequences: "Paradoxically, using wind energy in such a way that it forces utilities to cycle their coal generation often results in greater SO2, NOX and CO2 emissions than would have occurred if less wind energy were generated and coal generation was not cycled." Michelle went to Walgreens and picked up the prints of our summer photos. I'm pretty impressed with how they turned out. And very convenient: upload one night, pick up the next day at our local store. Currently she and the kids are at the Heron Pond Elementary School annual "ice cream social". I'm about to head over to Golds. 5:05pm

Phew! Back from a Step circuit class followed by a Pilates class. Feeling a good kind of fatigue. Very ready for some dinner. 8:01pm
