Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Today the kids have the day off because of a teacher training day. I'll be heading down to the Boxborough office. 6:27am

I read some cool sci-fi news. Summer Glau aka the Terminator, Firefly's River Tam, etc. will be on the 8th episode of "Chuck" this season. Also this season, Old Spice pitchman Isaiah Mustafa. I can almost picture it: "Look at your spy, now look at me. Look at your spy, now look at me!" 6:30am

Oh. My. Eyes! A Hello Kitty case for the HTC EVO. What is seen cannot be unseen... 6:36am

Happy 12th birthday Google. Hard to believe 12 years ago you didn't exist. Now you're a verb, an adjective, a noun... 6:38am

Smooth but rainy drive into work. Although it's gray out, it was still nice driving the New England back roads now that the tree leaves are changing. The kids are with Michelle at the Merrimack Y as she teaches her killer Step class. Claire and Abby are taking Michelle's class.9:35am

Binturong Wikipedia linkSure, last week Qualcomm in San Diego got to hear Dave Matthews perform, but here in New England Qualcomm employees got to see a live Binturong. 10:01am

I hadn't realized NH's Dean Kamen had sold Segway earlier this year. I was worried we'd lost our most famous inventor. 10:58am

Dark, rainy drive home. Took care 'cause I don't feel like getting rear ended again. Caught up with my dad for the first portion of the commute and then listened to The Brothers Karamazov the rest of the way. 7:10pm

This afternoon a significant change at work occurred. My telecommute agreement ended, as it did for my peers. There will be no more routine scheduled work from home days. Since I live in NH, there will be tax implications, so it's effectively a pay cut. 7:22pm

Video: New trailer for the upcoming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" movies. 8:23pm

"Isn't it great to live in a society where the penalty for lying to a congressman can be up to 30 years in jail, but the penalty for a congressman lying to you is another two years in office." -- Peter Schmuck, Baltimore Sun sports writer, concerning the indictment of Roger Clemens 8:45pm

The boys are in bed, the girls are downstairs watching "Dancing with the Stars". I'm just not feeling in a TV mood, so I'm surfing my Google Reader feeds. 8:47pm

Finished the last of the six part "Doctor Who: Genesis of the Daleks". Good night all! 10:14pm
