Martin Luther King Day

Posted by Scott at 10:09 PM

Good morning! Happy MLK day. The kids have off but I don't. I head down to Boxborough with sunny skies but temps around -3°F. Logged in and saw 71 fresh emails waiting for me since I left late Friday night. *sigh*. 9:01am

Meanwhile Michelle has Claire and the boys this morning. She's taking 'em to the YMCA so she can teach her Step class. Claire will attend that. Afterwards they'll stop by Corriveau-Routhier to look at tile for the bathrooms. They'll do some candlepin bowling at Leda Lanes and have some lunch at the Grand Buffet. Can you tell I'm just a bit jealous? 9:04am

“The Social Network” took best picture honors last night?? Really? 9:45am

Disturbing. Why you should always encrypt your smartphone. Police officers may lawfully search mobile phones found on arrested individuals' persons without first obtaining a search warrant. 9:59am

Link to the audiobookGood day at work! Head out a bit early, listening to more of “Life of Mary” on the way north. Tonight's chapters: the Holy Family's flight to Egypt, their life there, the return to Nazareth, and the Finding in the Temple. Went straight to Golds Gym for the Step circuit class. Now to have a bite and head to an Opus Dei Circle. 7:13pm

Just checking the weather during dinner. Looks like tomorrow is going to be a work from home day: 6-10 inches of snow expected to fall... 7:23pm

Back from my Opus Dei Circle. During my drive I listened to more of "Life of Mary". Chapters included Jesus' hidden life growing up, the death of St. Joseph, Jesus calling his apostles, and the wedding at Cana. As I listened I kept marveling at Mary's virtue, most notably her humility. You can imagine my surprise when the leader of tonight's meeting said the talk was going to be on the virtue of true humility. Do you ever get the sense God is kicking you upside the head saying, "can you hear me now?" 10:06pm

When I got home Michelle and Abby were on the two iMacs, each surfing at WebKinz.com. Earlier that day Michelle picked up several WebKinz at Hallmark. Now that they've jumped the shark as the must-have toy, they are very affordable, yet still come with the one year web account. And happily the kids' old accounts were revived with their other animals from earlier years still there. They didn't start from scratch. Now I must get some sleep as my eyes are heavy. Tomorrow promises to be another long day. Good night all! 10:09pm
