Foretaste of Springtime

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Even with the Daylight Savings time there's little rush as we went to Mass last night. Michelle just took Claire to work the 8:30 to 3:30 shift at Subway. 8:12am

Michelle & I took the rest of the kids for breakfast at DFE. When we got home I did the annual spring time tuneups of the bicycles. Primarily it consists of filling the tires, adjusting seat heights, and tightening kick stands. I also inflated the basketballs which lose pressure over winter too. It's been a great preview of springtime this morning! 12:14pm

TI cuts guidance. Excerpt: “As for tablet/smartphone demand, it’s entirely possible that TI is seeing weaker-than-expected demand thanks to Qualcomm’s superior positioning. The Snapdragon S4 and its 28nm LTE modem are currently in the driver’s seat as far as performance and battery life are concerned, a fact that leaves Texas Instruments fighting with Nvidia for leftovers.” 12:25pm

Ordered Abby a plane ticket to visit her cousins in Indianapolis this July. 1:38pm

Really enjoyed reading “[Lord] Monckton’s Schenectady showdown,” lest anyone think that an appeal to “settled science” shuts down discussion of facts. 3:18pm

While this happens less at the YMCA, I do see this effect a bit more at Golds Gym. Cartoon: At the gym: who is looking at whom. Luckily in Milford it's predominantly an older generation that just wants to get some exercise, not be seen. 3:28pm

Somehow I missed the news a year ago that Amazon S3 added the option for revision control. The BilikFamily.com mirror is hosted on Amazon S3 but I've never enabled revision control. Curious. The ability to roll back to an earlier version of a web page or the supporting data. 3:51pm

Picked up Claire from Subway. Work ran an hour later than expected. 4:25pm

Took the family to the Rolanti's house for dinner. Our three boys played with their three older kids. The rest of us just enjoyed talking around the dinner table for hours. Sister Marcel from our parish was there too. I think it was good for the girls to see a sister in a more relaxed social context and ask her questions. Brought the exhausted kids home and sent them straight to bed. Good night all! 9:00pm

‘Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.’
