Followup Visit

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Yawn! Good morning! Another early hospital visit day. Soon have to get the kids up. And then Michelle and I are on our way to Massachusetts General Hospital for followup appointments. Hopefully the traffic is reasonable and the kids get themselves ready without fighting. Mornings like these we aren't there to referee. 5:38am

Arrived at Massachusetts General Hospital about 15 minutes ago. In addition to the usual morning traffic, there was an accident and gaper's block around Billerica. Sadly it took two hours door to door. 8:15am

Had a much smoother drive back. It always helps when they let us finish up shortly after lunch hour. Michelle's oncologist is happy with her progress thus far. We'll see him again next week. Stopped at A&E for coffee and I needed to stop for diesel. We also swung by Milford's new Memphis BBQ Blues to check them out. It has potential, but we were in a rush because the first bus would be arriving soon. 2:36pm

Big rumors are swirling around my peers that in the next few years Apple could seriously drop Intel/x86 in its laptop line, as they get more and more experience with the ARM style processors and 64 bit ARM CPUs on in the pipeline. For many folks it would be enough for what they use a laptop for and greatly extend the battery life. 3:00pm

Wrapped up work around 6:30. Watched last weekend's episode of "Once Upon a Time" with the family. Each week the plot just gets better and more interesting. Then helped Claire study for an upcoming exam on the late twentieth century Middle East struggles. From there she and I talked about East Germany and then the Trabant. Soon we all said evening prayers and off to bed. Good night all! 9:08pm

Our earlier discussion of the Trabant led me to explore Time magazine's 50 Worst Cars of All Time. Besides Communist made cars, British Leyland is also well represented therein. Color me surprised! 9:23pm
