Holiday Weekend

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! What a hectic morning it's been. I dropped the girls off at their schools and later dropped Timothy off at his. Michelle is taking the twins for their middle school medical physicals. Today Claire has the "Spring Fling" at school, and Abby's class is going to Canobie Lake Park. 8:45am

Unfortunately Michelle didn't bring her cell with her and its been ringing off the hook, regarding the twins' absence, Michelle's next appointment, and other planning. Meanwhile my temporary laptop wouldn't connect to the WiFi. I got about an hour behind handling those issues. 9:53am

Learn more about the HP EliteBook 8460pI'll admit: I'm just a little excited to be upgrading to an HP EliteBook 8460p Notebook next week. Re-setting it up will be a pain, but the processor boost and the 256GB solid state drive will go a long way for the type of work I do. Our project just keeps getting bigger, so the code compile times get longer and the simulations as well. I just got the email confirmation from corporate IT that it's ready for me. 12:10am

Took Michelle and Michael for lunch at Cafe on the Oval. Since Michael's class had a field trip today, we just held him home after his physical. And he's been a good helper for her with things around the house. Swung by DFE afterwards for hot drinks. During our drive back Michelle had a anesthesia pre-screening interview by phone. Back to debugging. 1:47pm

Saw this story during lunch with Michelle and Michael. A fifteen year old won a science competition for a pancreatic cancer detection test that is significantly more sensitive and cheaper than current techniques. Mind blown! 3:17pm

More bugs fixed. Last conference call of the week over. Weekly status written. Hours logged. Hello three day weekend! 6:06pm

After yesterday's marathon road trip to MGH, it was nice to work from home today and relax with the kids after dinner. I also helped Timothy put more polish on his Linux laptop by installing the AMD/ATI graphics drivers and fixing the sound issues he was having. We watched a couple of episodes of Nick's "Victorious". As I was getting the boys to bed with their prayers, Claire called. Earlier this evening she had a last minute work substitution request at Subway. I was happy that this wouldn't be another late night at Subway. Good night all! 9:40pm

Simon Peter answered him, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’
Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ ”
