Surgery Paperwork

Posted by Scott at 09:37 PM

Good morning! Oh look, more rain! Time to start another week of work and school. I dropped the girls off at their schools. I offered up the Joyful Mysteries for Michelle on my commute down to Boxborough and listened to today's readings and homily the rest of the way. I could hear that even EWTN HQ was dealing with heavy rain too. 8:34am

Michelle will be dropping the boys off at their school and heading over to the Y to teach her Step and Abs class. Today will be the first time she can shower and change the bandages from Friday's surgery. We had considered going to the pool yesterday, but since Michelle couldn't go in, we hung around the house instead. 8:36am

Click to see more about this imageI often like NASA's "APOD" (Astronomy Picture of the Day) for use as cell phone wallpaper. Yesterday's image is a good example. (see thumbnail image at left) 12:19am

People sometimes ask how we can afford 5 kids. Judging by this story, it's cheaper here than in China! 1:56pm

Just made a call to our health insurance. Perhaps delayed by the recent holiday weekend, we got a cautionary letter the day after Michelle's surgery reminding us about things like in-network, limits, etc. After discussing it with the agent, it seems like everything should be fine. Still... those letters can scare a person, especially after the event. 2:48pm

By the way... if you'd like to see the surgeon who did the portacath surgery, here he is: Dr. Luis Jimenez. Luckily he specializes in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. 2:51pm

I often love our marketing department. Latest case in point: The Butter Benchmark. (YouTube video) 3:12pm

Called Michelle to re-assure her that last Friday's surgery should be fully covered, as her other ones were. She also mentioned that she taught a good Step class and took the large bandages off afterwards. She showered up and decided to let it air out now, as the hospital prescribed. 3:18pm

‎“Anxiety is the greatest evil that can befall the soul — except sin. . . . When our heart is troubled and disturbed within itself, it loses the strength necessary to maintain the virtues that it had acquired. At the same time, it loses the means to resist the temptations of the enemy, who then uses his utmost efforts to fish, as they say, in troubled waters.” — St. Francis de Sales 3:44pm

Left work a bit early and head straight to Golds Gym. Claire met me there and we took the strength class and the Step class together. We stopped by DD's for some iced decaf coffees on the way back. 8:16pm

Over dinner I took a random surf on YouTube. It started with this recent silly Qualcomm video. I wanted to see the music video for that song they used in the background. Then from that band onto their recent song cover of Muppet Show Theme Song. Funny the detours YouTube can put you on, isn't it? 8:22pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Watched a quick, recent episode of "Hot in Cleveland" with Claire and Abby before I head to bed as well. Good night all! 9:35pm

by the Lord has this been done,
and it is wonderful in our eyes?”
