Shufflin' Saturday

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! We all went to Merrimack YMCA. The boys went to the kid workout area. Michelle, Maria, Claire, Abby and I took the 9 o'clock Step and Abs class. I suspect for the Merrimack YMCA, that was the most related attendees at a cardio class. As a new Step'er Abby is getting better at it each time she comes. Of course Michelle makes us all look like we're standing still… 11:00am

Stay classy MSNBC. Stay classy... Martin Bashir Showcases Bus Explosions While Discussing Romney Bus Tour. Let me think of all the times FoxNews fantasized on-air about the President's transportation blowing up… I think there'd be calls for them to have their broadcast license pulled if they did. 11:30am

I was getting near the end of my fuel tank on the way home with the boys. I went 670 miles on that tank. Have I mentioned how much I admire my engine's ability to do that without being a hybrid? Still… I don't like getting within a gallon of empty like that. 11:45am

Claire got a last minute request to sub at Subway today from one to three this afternoon because a co-worker's sister had a baby. Abby and Daniel will have their dance classes soon. Today is their dress rehearsal for next week's performances. 11:46am

As yesterday was the Catholic Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, today we remember the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.2:00pm

The eight of us went to the 4 o'clock Mass. Today's celebrant was a missionary priest from the Philippines. Now we're all enjoying dinner at Amigos. 5:46pm

After a quick phone call to the airline, we cancelled the return leg of Abby's Indianapolis visit and made it instead fly from Chicago Midway back to Manchester. Abby will be gone nearly a month this summer, between Indianapolis, Michigan, and Chicago. Claire will be spending a week in South Carolina. 7:46pm

Click to enlargeAs my existing MovableType CMS is getting long in the tooth, I'm again looking into using Jekyll as a possible replacement for writing on the web. It's most like the kind of workflow I like. 7:49pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. The ladies are downstairs watching Sandra Bullock's The Blind Side. Tonight is the last night Michelle is "off" of Xeloda. Tomorrow starts another "week on" with twice daily doses. 9:00pm

I've been tinkering a bit with Jekyll. I think even Tim might like it because you don't need to setup an Apache web server or MySQL databases to get started. I also learned that in doing routine Mac Homebrew updates, I unknowingly got the brand new Emacs 24.1 update. This is a major release of the coder's text editor. Perhaps tomorrow I'll get to put it through some paces and see what's new. But my eyes are getting heavy. Good night all! 9:12pm

“He went down with them and came to Nazareth,
and was obedient to them;
and his mother kept all these things in her heart.”
