Stay the Course

Good morning! Michelle went to Mass this morning. I'm working from home today. Later Michelle will have a routine followup with her oncologist. The girls will be going shopping with Michelle's friend Tammy. 8:53am

Sure it's Photoshop'd, but this was just the smile I needed this morning. Maybe it's because I live along the east coast now, but grew up in the midwest… 8:59am

Got a call just as I was leaving for the gym. I got the basics down, but agreed to discuss it when I got. I took Kathy's Thursday morning Step class. Of course the girls head out shopped and Michelle went to oncology. 11:37am

Michelle called me about an hour ago, a tiny bit frustrated. They did not need to take labs this morning and her oncologist was just back from vacation and so was running behind this morning. That added up to a couple of hours of "hurry up and wait". Meanwhile... I think it's time to take the boys for lunch. We were going to meet Michelle for lunch, but now that's not looking like a plan. 11:39am

I took the boys to Cafe on the Oval for lunch. It's nice outside: sunny and 81°F with a nice breeze. Michelle text'd me a several times. Her oncologist is happy with the current dosage! Scans will happen near the end of the month to see how the medicine is doing. For now it's back to work. 1:36pm

The Family Research Council shooter was "spouting opposition to social conservatism". (related story) And just what were his words exactly?? Curious the Washington Post won't quote him. Meanwhile last month ABC News was ready to jump the gun and wrongly declare that the Colorado "Batman" shooter was a tea party member, only to later find they had the wrong James Holmes. Oh, there are multiple people named James Holmes in Colorado? Oops… sorry. 3:20pm

The girls got back from their shopping outing with Tammy. Then Michelle took Claire over to the parish for her pre-Confirmation interview with our pastor. 5:01pm

Hans Camenzind, 555 timer inventor, dies. Anyone who has taken a electronics Circuits I class bows in respect. "Back in the day" the integrated circuit known as the 555 timer was prolific! It's a bit nostalgic to look back on it in this day of billion transistor chips that take thousands of man years to develop and bring to market. 5:29pm

I dropped Abby off in Manchester. She's going shopping with the Nix's and then going to spend some time with them up north in Belmont and Lake Winnipesaukee. I tried to do some tinkering with ArchLinux when I got home, but it seems like they made the installation much harder now. 8:00pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. I don't plan to be far behind them... Good night all! 9:00pm

“Jesus said in reply, ‘Have you not read that from the beginning
the Creator made them male and female and said,
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?
So they are no longer two, but one flesh.’ ”
Matthew 19
