3DS-XL's

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! Since we went to Mass last night, we got to sleep in a bit this Sunday morning. Claire went off to work. I took the rest of the family for breakfast at DFE. 9:47am

I've been known to dabble in "kickin' it old school" with regards to computing, clinging to my command line and my Emacs, but this might be going too far: the USB typewriter. 9:48am

Gorgeous morning outside! 60°F and not a cloud in the sky. Michelle is using the nice weather to give the boys fresh haircuts outside. 10:06am

I forgot to mention that today Michelle starts another 2 weeks of Xeloda. Her week off is over. Today she shifts from 1650mg in the morning and 1650mg in the evening to 1650mg in the morning and now 2000mg in the evening. We're both a bit anxious about the increase. Michelle has being very careful to give her hands and feet plenty of Aquaphor and Burt's Bees to stay ahead of the primary side effects. 10:16am

3DS-XLMost of this summer we've been discussing what to buy to replace the kids' aging Nintendo handhelds. Most are about 5 years old with cases falling apart. I'd said let's see what comes out after summer for new models from Nintendo, Apple, Google, and Amazon. So now that they've all shown their latest gadgets (3DS-XLs, iPodTouch, Nexus 7, and Kindle Fire HD), this afternoon we bought a pair of Nintendo 3DS-XL's for the children. Released last month these are the larger, sturdier versions of the 3DS. We bought one red and one blue. I also picked up Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land. 2:13pm

After we left GameStop and picked up Michelle and Abby from the Lindt chocolate outlet, we stopped for coffees at A&E and then bought linner for the kids at Bentleys roast beef. When we got home Timothy and I did preliminary setup of the new game consoles and now they're enjoying them. 3:36pm

Official movie siteI've had this Leica camera for over a week now and am finally going to sit down, crack open the manual, and see some of its features and settings. The funny thing is that since I got the camera from my friend Javier, I just noticed the manual is in Spanish. Luckily Leica has the manuals and guides online so I downloaded the English one to my tablet. 3:37pm

As expected the twins were immersed in gaming most of the afternoon. After months of anticipation I'm finally watching "For Greater Glory". It's a rather long movie. I may need to watch it in two sittings. 6:43pm

Picked up Claire from driver's ed. Got the boys tucked in bed. Going to watch the last bits of the movie and go to bed. Good night all! 9:10pm

“Taking a child, he placed it in the their midst,
and putting his arms around it, he said to them,
‘Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me;
and whoever receives me,
receives not me but the One who sent me.’ ”
