Rainy weekend

Posted by Scott at 09:24 PM

It rained all weekend. I felt so bad for the town of Milford which had an autumn pumpkin/harvest fest planned with lots of events downtown. I also didn't get a chance to trim the lawn.

On the brighter side Michelle found some good deals on fireplace hardware and fireplace screens at HomeGoods. We had our first fire in our new home on Saturday evening after the boys went down to bed. The chimney flue has a much more awkward vent control than in our last house. It's nearly guaranteed to leave you with hands full of soot.

Sunday we went to morning Mass followed by breakfast downstairs — ie. the usual routine. I did Claire's CCD instruction while the boys rested. When they got up we drove into Nashua to visit John and Mary Martinez and see theire latest edition, Matthew Martinez. Even after four kids, I marvel at how small newborns are, and how helpless. Only four months till we're in that position. On the way home we stopped for dinner at Wendy's. The boys did well there, perhaps because they can be fed right away before their minds move on to other "curiosities". When we got home Abby wanted to play Clifford on the computer, Claire and Michelle worked on a craft project from one of her birthday presents, and I wrote a letter to my grandpa Bilik who has just snowbird'ed down to Florida for the winter.

Tomorrow Claire has off for the holiday. I considered taking tomorrow off, but our Nashua support office would be nearly empty if I did so. I plan on taking half a day later this week if the sun should ever come out again.
