There is a slashdot discussion covering a recent article in Time magazine. I haven't had a chance yet to read the Time article, but the discussion it's generated at slashdot (typically made up of technology workers) has been interesting. There's lots of discussion about covering the work of laid off employees, getting rid of corporate "dead weight" employees, and handling the burnout.
