Crazy Travel

Mom arrived - My dad dropped my mom off at Chicago's Midway airport this morning. He did not know what she would go through afterwards. There was a huge line for checkin and security. It took her about an hour and a half from drop off to the terminal. She barely made it to the terminal door before the scheduled flight time. Once she got on the fully booked airplane, it did not take off for a few hours due to a storm that was working through the greater Chicago area. In the end she spent far less time in the air than with in-processing or sitting on the tarmac.

Claire in Indiana - After dad dropped my mom off at the airport, he headed south with Claire to meet Gina at LaFayette. He got out of Chicago making good time when all of a sudden traffic came to a standstill. He moved about 3 miles in an hour. When he finally met up, they had lunch together, and Gina drove Claire the rest of the way to Noblesville.

How come we don't have weather updates for Bloomington/Normal on the side?

I'll see what I can do. I didn't know if anyone was even using that. I'm not sure how much it'll differ from River Grove and Noblesville. The three cities are only hours apart from each other.

In case you didn't notice, if you click on the town name, it takes you to the full weather report for that town.

OK, I added Bloomington IL to the weather list. I also changed the main body to have 3 full posts and 5 excerpt posts.

I also added a silly "feature" that puts the word count at the end of the excerpt. That's yet another indicator that there's more to read and how long it is. It's amazing that when I was in school, I would be bummed at the thought of writing a 500 word essay as a homework assignment. Now it seems easy when I look at the length of these entries...
