Photo Album

Click to see the albumPhotos - With the clouds and rain that occurred sporadically throughout the day, the kids were in and out of the house a lot today. They had three friends over most of the day. Towards the end while they watched Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, I worked on this photo album. Click here or on my ugly mug at the right to see the album. There are a few duplicates (notably Claire and Michael) where I couldn't decide which of two similar poses I liked better. Several are cropped for 5x7 rather than my usual 4x6. You'll also notice that the boys got some new bicycles generously handed down to them from a neighbor whose son outgrew them.

Abigail - Abby had sleepovers on both Friday night and Saturday night. It's not that big a deal, but it drives Claire a bit crazy because sleepovers tend to make Abby a bit sillier and giddier than usual. It doesn't take much to make Claire sleepless. Whispering, giggling, etc. all annoy the heck out of her. She demands her sleep schedule not be messed with. Insert standard comment about her genetics and her Bilik grandparents here...

Parish - From rumors we hear, our pastor is recovering well from his open heart surgery. As a surprise bonus this morning, a priest we knew from our years at Infant Jesus celebrated Mass at our local Milford parish — pitch hitting for our pastor. It had been well over a year, perhaps two, since I'd last seen him. He was a bit let down that he didn't see the whole family, just me and Abby.

Morse - A week ago I posted a link in the right hand sidebar about an old Morse coder who beat an expert text messaging teen in transmitting a message. It was a funny human interest story. I was driving home Saturday after dropping Claire off at gymnastics listening to this week's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me show (yes, I occasionally listen to NPR!) when they used that same story in their "Bluff the Listener" segment. I was amazed that I actually knew the story as they were telling it. Usually the human interest stories they choose are so off the wall I've never heard of them.
