Memorial Day Weekend

Click to see the albumPhotos - During the occasion idle moment today, I cleaned out my camera and my phone. Click for my camera results and my phone results. Many of the camera photos are from Mother's Day a couple of weekends ago. Many of the camera phone pictures are from this afternoon.

Videos - I uploaded several videos from this past month. Viewing is not recommended on dialup internet. A QuickTime compatible player/plugin is recommended.

Weekend - This weekend had several highlights which I'll summarize below.

  • I took Claire and her friend, Shauna, to the Sharon Arts Center to see their presentation, "The Power of Pictures: Celebrating New Hampshire Illustrators". I was more impressed than I thought I'd be.
  • Abby went to a birthday party and sleepover for her friend, Jessica. Claire had a sleepover at her friend, Shannon. It felt strange having no young girls in the house.
  • This morning Abby marched in the Milford Memorial Day parade with her brownie troop.
  • We took the boys to Chunky's to see Shrek 3. It happened to be at the same showing Abby went to for her friend's birthday party. You'd think we were stalking her...
  • We took all the kids to downtown Peterborough to enjoy the walk along the river banks, see the various small shops, and play at the Adams Playground. On the way back we had an early dinner and dessert at the roadside Gary's Harvest Restaurant in Wilton. We also stopped by the House by the Side of the Road to pick up some hanging annuals for the front porch. Michelle and the girls shopped for flowers while the boys were fascinated by the little pond with turtles and frogs in it.
  • Michelle and I watched Mansfield Park, a DVD movie based on the classic Jane Austen novel. Very romantic and very Jane Austen. On the lighter side we also watched the DVD romantic comedy Because I Said So. I would let Claire watch the former if she had the endurance (and the vocabulary). I would definitely not have her watch the latter.
Comments

Loved the pics! Daniel really looks like you in that last one from your camera. Claire is growing up, I'm impressed with her gymnastics, but she scares me flipping off the swing. Also impressed with Timothy's daredevilness- Kyle is a scaredy-cat, but that's ok, I don't have to worry so much yet, and he is learning to swing by himself now.
Heard the cicadas as soon as we got back from WI today, there are many, many more now. Kinda gross, yet fascinating.
Take care!
