A Visit with The Clydesdales

Posted by Scott at 06:52 PM

Click to see the albumPhotos - After our morning workout, Michelle and I took the kids (and Shauna) to Merrimack Anheuser-Busch grounds to take some pictures and show the boys the Clydesdales. Those photos make up most of this photo album. There's also a few pictures of Claire's birthday a few weeks ago. Since they cooperated for the most part (we won't talk about Daniel...) we took them out afterwards for a hearty lunch at Shorty's on exit 6 in Nashua.

We took these pictures so that we can update those multi-picture picture frames that we (and our parents) have, so there's a heavy percentage of portrait mode pictures. You might even see a few of these creep into the Christmas card photo in a few months. I'm just sayin'...

The photo I was a bit letdown about is the photo of Michelle and me. There aren't many of those. For whatever incalculable reason, the camera downshifted into ASA/ISO 50 for sensitivity. 50!? What on earth for!? Thus it exposed it at 1/30th of a second, which causes blur unless you have a really steady hand. I can't expect that of Claire, who's a new camera wielding aficionado. To her credit she did well on the solo of me...

That reminds me... Where's that CD of Claire's pictures from her class trip to Nature's Classroom?

Great pictures! New Hampshire sure is colorful in autumn.

Hi Bill,

The Merrimack Anheuser-Busch grounds look nice just about anytime they aren't covered in New England snow. I wish I had the landscaping budget that they do. Plus there are tours, a gift shop, etc.

On the other hand the colors *are* starting to change on the trees up here. It makes you want to drive more... unlike say January.

I didn't take any pictures of the Clydesdales, but they are impressive animals. I don't think that the boys remember ever seeing them before. Once we got to the stables, they didn't want to leave.

Hi Suzy,

Thanks. Yes sent us some pics. I'm sure soon we'll all *need* to see pictures of sunshine and green when we're all buried in snow...
