Do I hafta get up and go to work? Oh, all right... if I have to... I guess. 6:12am

The new hot water system passed its peak rate test: two simultaneous morning showers while Michelle was cleaning dishes downstairs. 6:44am

Smooth commute in after dropping Claire off at school. I finished listening to "The Great Divorce" a 2nd time. Yes, the book was that good. 8:45am

I'm considering re-writing a few of our performance tests to more accurately measure speed. Currently a few are too sloppy & pessimistic. 8:49am

Simply went with a few co-workers for lunch at the cafeteria. Lots o' discussion about the bank bailout boondoggle. We're all homeowners now 12:57am

Frustrated by another compiler/linker tool issue. Alas, I'll follow up with it more tomorrow. Time to hit the road & see the wife &a ... 4:46pm

Smooth drive home. Listened to TWiT #161. (related link) Filled up w/diesel for $3.84/gallon, down another $.15 from 10 days ago. 6:19pm

Michelle and I are trying to figure out why they showed "Supersize Me" in Claire's English class today. WTH?! 6:36pm

Comments

That's a PG-13 movie- did they get permission? I am only allowed to show G movies, and they are getting harder to find!
Jason Evert came and spoke at Guerin last week about chastity. Are you familiar with his work?

No, that and I don't need a daughter who becomes afraid to eat any fast food. This reminds me of when they show "Inconvenient Truth" at schools and your kids become obsessed with the polar bear (whose population is actually increasing).

Wow! Jason Evert! Cool! He's well known in that domain. I'm jealous. He's written a few recommendable books and is also one of the country's best speakers on John Paul II's synthesis in what is known as the Theology of the Body. You got an A-list chastity speaker.

Hi Alyssa,

I found out a little more. First, there is an educational version of the movie with a PG rating. I'm hoping that's what they used.

But more interestingly, the next day the topic of discussion in class was the concept of half truths. In today's media that's a good concept to understand.

Awesome- seems interesting and appropriate for her age...
Cass is coping w/ Mr. Szul. He's pulled that "should we have a pop quiz or take home quiz" stuff today, followed by a discussion of the pros and cons of each- gave a pop quiz, but let them take it home to finish it. Cass calls it MIND GAMES. She does have the highest score in his class though.
