Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! It's Friday! It's the day "New Moon" fans have been waiting for! Yet with our morning rain, I don't want to get out of bed! Alas, time to get the girls off to school. Perhaps listening to a little Gus Lloyd on the radio will motivate me... 6:28am

Since Michelle had a touch of common post chemo fatigue, I drove all the kidlets to their schools. I saw the world famous "UNIX - Live Free or Die" license plate on my way to dropping Timothy off. Always makes me smile. ;-) (related link) 9:22am

Well, it looks like our gas range is useless for the weekend. A new ignitor control module is on order and might be here by Monday. 2:53pm

It's a bit of a bittersweet evening. Claire is cutting off Michelle's hair. It's been falling out for the past two days and at this point Michelle just wants it off. They'll cut it to boy length hair for now. 6:30pm

So Claire and Abby brought Michelle's hair down to about two inches with scissors. Then I used our trimmers (the ones Michelle usually uses on us boys) to bring the rest down to about 3/4 inch. Most of the kids are sad, but for Michelle and I it's a sense of closure and relief. Nevertheless I pray that I never have to do this to Michelle again. 7:31pm

Bookmarks I made today:

Excerpt: Cryptonomicon is a 1999 novel by American author Neal Stephenson. The novel follows the expolits of two groups of people in two different time periods. The first is World War II-era Allied codebreakers ...

PS3-quality mobile gaming in next 5 years predict Qualcomm
Comment: Having seen our roadmaps, I'd say it's a fair prediction...
Excerpt: Qualcomm expect the mobile chipsets of 2011 to 2013 to be capable of gaming performance on a par with the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3, thanks to a new breed of dual-CPU SoCs with high-performance 2D and 3D crunching.
