Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Morning all! The grownups here had a rough night of sleep. Michelle got into a bit of a cycle of vomiting. The anti-vomiting pills wouldn't stay down. It seemed to stop around 3am but don't know for sure. I'm very grateful I have an extra set of hands today. 5:46am

I've dropped all the kidlets off at their respective schools. Michelle and her sister are heading to Nashua so that Michelle can get a MUGA scan (just Google it) and her Neulasta® shot. She seems to be doing much better than late last night. I'm home VPN'd into work and once again deep in the bowels of texture compression schemes. (related link) 9:37am

65°F, sunny, but WINDY! After dropping the kids off at school in the rain, I'll take it! 10:31am

I went out for a bite. Michelle is still in Nashua. Her MUGA scan took longer than she planned and oncology decided to rehydrate her intravenously after last night's issues. 1:59pm

Everyone is back home now: the ladies from oncology, the kids from school. I am so relieved! We found out why Michelle got so sick late last night. Her IV yesterday was (accidentally) missing one of the anti-nausea drugs so she was less protected against a typical chemo reaction. We were worried that her body was becoming less tolerant of the drugs. Now we know it was a prescription/pharmacy oversight. 3:41pm

This graphics/DSP guy is a wee bit jealous. Michelle got to watch her heart beating on a screen in real time. She was describing it to me and thought it was pretty cool to watch. Hail the MUGA scan! (related link) 4:33pm

The 13th Day - A Film About The Miracle of Fatima
Comment: Yay! The UPS guy just swung by and this time it wasn't gifts we've purchased for our kids. My DVD of http://The13thDay.com/ arrived from Amazon. Am I too old to say "Woot!" ?

12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal
Comment: But hey, have you heard about Tiger Woods' marriage enough? Or how 'bout the White House "gate crashers"?
Excerpt: It’s been nearly two weeks since a scandal shook many people’s faith in the scientists behind global warming alarmism. The scandal forced the University of East Anglia (UK) to divulge that it threw away raw temperature data and prompted the temporary resignation of Phil Jones of the university’s Cli...
