Short Updates

Posted by Scott at 08:25 PM

Good morning all on this last day of 2009! Michelle & I just trimmed Belle's front claws. You know, for a cat that won't make a peep if she's wanting back inside or is trapped in a closet, she cries like a baby when her claws get a lil' trim. [Yes, we're careful not to cut too far]. 7:35am

Setup "Lucy must be traded Charlie Brown" for the boys while I get ready to go to the gym. Michelle is out at physical therapy for a bit. Her PT is the only thing that doesn't require a half hour drive into Nashua. It's less than a mile away. 8:29am

Back from a great Step & abs class at Golds. Going to head to Chunky's Cinema Pub but must decide: the chipmunks or the frogs. 10:53am

Made it to Chunkys. Traffic was heavy because it's located between a liquor store & a grocery store. On New Years eve, that's asking for congestion! Decided to go with "The Princess & the Frog". 12:03am

Back from "The Princess & the Frog". Liked it. It reminded of classic Disney movies before they went heavy on the CGI. Got the boys Wendys Jr Frostys & Michelle & I DD's coffees. Once home the boys & I shoveled the driveway. 3:47pm

After a few honey do's (dispose mouse, fold laundry, clean garage, prep stoves) it's time to sit back, study today's readings, and watch Michael play a little SuperMarioBros Wii while Timothy & Daniel play PayDay. 5:44pm

Study took a long time today. That's what happens when the Gospel reading for the day is the prologue of John. [Jn 1:1-18 (related link) ] There is just a gold mine of commentary on those passages. 7:02pm

Michelle was telling me how the news media was all caught up in the new energy efficient design of the Times Square New Years Day ball. I had to agree with her when she said, "who the heck cares?! It's lit for less than an hour!" In the grand scheme of things in NYC's New Years celebration, its effect will be immeasurable. 7:15pm

Was looking over our girls' flight schedule for coming home tomorrow. Their layover will be while we're at Mass for tomorrow's feast day. Called Claire to tell her to leave a message if we don't/can't answer and we'll get back to her as soon as we possibly can. Hopefully Claire will overcome the voice mail phobia she inherited from her mom. 7:37pm

Forgot that not only do I have Audio Hijack Pro, I also have WireTap Studio (from a MacHeist earlier this year). I wonder which one would be better for short AudioBoo-type recordings. 7:52pm

One last Rosary for the year and I'm callin' it a night. Good night all! See you in the new year! If you're out tonight, be safe! 8:24pm

Bookmarks I made today:

Jolicloud
Comment: Perhaps I should install this on the old laptop that I brought over from AMD. It's been collecting dust for six months and hasn't been powered up since my last day there.
Excerpt: Jolicloud is a new operating system for netbooks. The OS provides a beautiful interface, an application directory and a set of social features that make it easy and fun to use.
