Short Updates

Good morning! Before going to Mass I was doing some silly web speed tests. What amazed me is that my web email at FastMail is as fast as my homepage, ie. in the half second range. That's pretty incredible considering my homepage is static HTML but email is dynamically rendered. 6:15am

Time to get the kids up and out to Mass. We asked if they wanted to go to 7am or 8:45am and amazingly they said 7. They said that they wanted to be done with Mass and breakfast by 8:30 so that they can get other things done. 6:17am

Back from Mass. I did a couple of web experiments for reducing download time. Meanwhile the boys are watching the rest of "Percy Jackson". Michelle and the girls have a new idea of painting the inside of the garage and went to Home Depot to get some paint. 9:40am

Click to see the book at AmazonThe monthly bandwidth allowance for my website has been upped to 40GB. Perhaps I should consider video/audio uploads? 10:03am

Harris poll of those OVER 18 of their favorite author. Whaddya know?! Stephenie Meyer is not in the top ten. 10:41am

Video: Doctor Who season 6 will have a two part episode that takes place in the US! 11:18am

I had a lazy afternoon enjoying a novel recommended by a few friends. Michelle, Timothy, the girls and two of their friends had an impulse to paint the walls of the inside of the garage. They've been raw since the building of the house. 5:39pm

Later I showed Timothy what it was like when the basement was being finished since he was too young to remember it. Now we have burgers cooking on the wood pellet smoker. 5:40pm

After dinner I took Claire and three of her friends to see Easy A, showing in Merrimack. On the way home I listened to my latest CD of the month which had Fr. Robert Barron as the featured speaker. 8:25pm

At the recommendation of Sarah Reinhard, I ordered this book a couple of weeks ago. This weekend I got about two-thirds through it. I'm enjoying it so far. It's the kind of book where I say, "I'll just read a few more pages" and before long another half hour is gone. 8:30pm
