Back to School

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! It's been solid rain all night long. I got a bit nervous when I saw 64 closings on WMUR but it was mostly places up north where this rain is snow. Still it's going to be gloomy for the kids when they go back to school today. I prepped an MP3 CD for today's commute with the first part of Dostoevsky's "The Idiot". And no, it's not subtitled, "The Making of an American President". 5:50am

Dropped some sad girls off at their schools. Back to school + rain does not make for a good "welcome back". Had a smooth drive to Boxborough listening to the opening chapters of the audio book. This definitely seems like it's going to be one of those deep character development novels. Hope the plot moves along reasonably well. 9:04am

Surprised when I logged in that my main Perforce server is down. Guess I won't be sync'ing up any over-the-weekend updates until San Diego wakes up... 9:05am

I'm encouraged by these early poll results... "Can you live without Facebook?" (related link) Thumbnail of Do you Facebook? 12:41am

Laughing at this video by TeamCoco parodying Apple and their iPad2 announcement. To be clear I do think the iPad2 is a great device, but do think it's a bit funny the Reality Distortion Field that occurs during an Apple announcement. 2:20pm

Left work a bit early to get some exercise. Listened to more Dostoevsky on the drive home. Caught the Step circuit class at Golds. When I arrived home I was finally able to see the granite counters that were installed in the master bathroom over the double sinks. Color-wise they tie in well with the ceramic tile floor and the new paint scheme. 7:17pm

After a light dinner I got the boys tucked into bed with their prayers. I did some prep for Wednesday's RCIA class. Alas I'm getting tired and need to get to sleep. And yet I can't help but think a little about my mom who's staying overnight at the hospital tonight. I've never had an overnight at the hospital, aside from being there overnight with Michelle before she delivered Abby. Good night all! Tomorrow's Fat Tuesday. I wonder if I can get some guys at the office together for a big lunch? 8:58pm
