Good morning! It's a lather, rinse, repeat morning. I dropped the girls off at their schools and head down to Boxborough. I listened to Buzz Out Loud #1483 and then Tech News Today #257 along the drive.
Prior to getting rear-ended last fall, I used to have chrome lettering on my trunk that said "50 MPG". People would see it and ask, "do you REALLY get that?". So just for reference, at right is a snapshot from my typical commute in as I arrived at the Qualcomm parking lot. I didn't try anything unusual like hypermilers do. My ScanGauge has a lot of controls but in this case I told it to reset after I dropped off Abby and average the MPG over the commute from Milford Middle School to Boxborough. There's a reason I like this car, even as it approaches 100K miles. Ruby's been a real trooper!
Greenie conundrum: Scores of protected golden eagles dying after colliding with wind turbines. So conflicted! ;-P
Had an office staff group photo today. The upside was that a humongous lunch was catered afterwards. We could feed our fellow tenants from AMD upstairs with the leftovers.
AMD Betting Everything on OpenCL. Interesting to see what's going on "upstairs" from me at my old employer.
Left work on the late side. Listened to Buzz Out Loud #1484 along the way to here about the so-called Wii U and more Apple & Sony news.
Since the work lunch was so huge, I skipped dinner but when I got home I helped Claire with a few geometry homework issues. I got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers and joined Michelle and the girls for a while as they watched another episode of Dr. Quinn. Once the drama went over the top, as it often does, I left to get ready for bed. Good night all!
