Overcast Movie Day

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! We're back from 7am Mass at St.Patrick's and breakfast at DFE. Claire and Abby served this morning. Doesn't look like there will be much going on today. It's overcast and looks like rain is on its way. 9:03am

Evidentally I was more tired by yesterday than I thought. Shortly after we got back, I laid down on the couch to watch a short tech show... and fell asleep for two hours. Michelle, Claire, and Abby used to the time to go grocery shopping while the boys stayed with me. 11:00am

YouTube link to the trailer I setup the girls to watch Disney's “Prom”. Since I didn't want the boys wasting their time with it, I took them to the town pool. That was brisk! 74 degrees and breezy outside. At least the rain held off. Now the four of us are about to enjoy some Wendy's for lunch. 2:01pm

The three boys were quite the fish at the pool. The four of us spent the whole time in the 12 foot section. Michael loves to swim to the bottom — we call him Michael Manatee — and even found some jewelry at the bottom which we gave to the lost and found. The four of us are watching “Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules” while Michelle and Abby are out shopping at A.C.Moore and Claire has the 2 to 6 shift at the farm stand. 2:10pm

Picked up Claire from the farm stand. Now finally having an anniversary dinner with Michelle at The Pasta Loft. Even tonight it almost didn't happen as Claire got a text to go running with some girls from the cross country team. 6:40pm

Michelle and I talked about a bunch of things but were remembering that we think it was this day, 22 years ago, that we as newlyweds drove from my folks' home to Dayton, OH. We were married less than a week with one Ford Escort and a few suitcases on the six hour drive. We were cutting the strings from our parents and starting our new life together. I was to report for active duty as a Second Lieutenant at Wright Patterson AFB on August 15th, 1989. What an adventure it's been in the 22 years since! 8:00pm

When we got home, Timothy was quick to tell me that there have been recent updates to both Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio. Updated both of the iMacs. The boys are excited and playing now... new levels, new abilities, new bosses! 8:25pm

Eventually peeled the boys away from the iMacs and got them tucked in bed with their prayers. I helped Michelle choose some movies for her netbook to keep her entertained when she's recovering from surgery later this week. Now to pray the Joyful Mysteries and get some sleep. Good night all! 9:25pm
