Relaxing Saturday

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Story link Microsoft offers webOS developers free Windows Phones and dev tools. I've said it before. I think it's too early to have just an iOS + Android smart phone universe. I was sad to see HP ditch webOS this week. But I've liked what I've seen with WinPhone7 and their upcoming "Mango" release shows a lot of promise. Hopefully Microsoft can get better marketing to get their developer to consumer ratio below 1:1. 7:35am

A belated good morning! I took this morning's Step and Abs class over at Golds. Afterwards I took Claire over to Subway for the lunch shift. Then topped off my Jetta. I was looking over my records of the year. For all the miles that car does, she only gets filled up 2-3 times a month. When I started at ATI, my Accord (admittedly a V-6 with a bit longer commute) got refilled twice a week. 11:30am

Michelle and I dropped Abby off at a friend's house and are now at the town pool with the boys. Some fresh air and dangling her feet in the pool is doing Michelle a lot of emotional good regarding things getting back to normal. 1:46pm

All this talk about a new Doctor and my first thought is "Matt Smith is leaving?!" [Doctor Who]. Then I find that the Catholic Church has named St. John of Avila as the 34th Doctor of the Church. 2:25pm

Just left Confession at St. Patrick's. Now at Subway to pick Claire up from the lunch shift. 3:15pm

Thumbnail of Tequila for Ta Ta's at AmigosWith the family at Amigos because of their "Tequila for Ta Ta's" fundraiser tonight. We even got Michelle to enjoy one of their fundraiser margaritas. See snapshot at left for more details. 4:56pm

Thumbnail of T-Shirt orderOrdered six t-shirts from Snorg Tees, mainly because my workout t-shirts are wearing out. I ordered "Back In My Day We Had Nine Planets", "Naptime, You Don't Know What You've Got 'Til It's Gone", "Bow Ties Are Cool", "Gimme Some Sugar, Baby", "Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles". And for Abby I got "The only thing we have to fear it fear itself... and spiders". See snapshot at right. 7:44pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Abby is doing her ritual playing with the cats before bed. 8:31pm

Stop if you're easily grossed out. We take regular measurements of the fluids draining from the tube coming from Michelle's surgical incision. We're happy to see it's tapering off. Perhaps on Monday's followup meeting with the surgeon, they can remove the drain tube. We went through this same thing two years ago after the mastectomy, except then there were two drain tubes. It's not pleasant to think about, but it keeps the fluids from building up and swelling under the skin as things heal. 8:34pm

Hmm. Finally after 15 months a new release of Arch Linux. Definitely not for the fainthearted, but good if you want to build an efficient installation from the ground up with just what you want, rather than a bloated 'kitchen sink' default. I may give it a try again soon. 9:28pm

The eyes are gettin' heavy. Time to get some rest. Tomorrow is "But who do you say that I am?" Sunday. An excellent question to reflect on, as my confessor mentioned this afternoon. Good night all! 9:33pm
