Touchpad Frenzy

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! It's Michelle's birthday and it looks like she'll have great weather for it. Because of current circumstances, she doesn't have to worry about teaching a cardio class today. So she and the kids can enjoy the day at the town pool. 6:30am

Q: Why did the Buddhist refuse anesthesia when having his wisdom teeth removed?
A: He wanted to transcend dental medication. 6:30am

Had a smooth commute down to Boxborough, listening to Buzz Out Loud #1536 along the drive. It's entertaining listening to the news of how when HP "gave away" their new TouchPads for $99, it started a frenzy of people clamoring to buy a device that was officially discontinued. 9:10am

HTC EVO 4G was the US's bestselling Android phone last quarter. Wow! This model is over a year old and only available the nation's 3rd largest carrier, Sprint. 10:12am

It's been an interesting day. South of us on the east coast, they had a small earthquake. Meanwhile at our office we had no internet for about 20 minutes, although IT doesn't think it was earthquake related. 5:06pm

One of the nice things about having standardized computer platforms at the office: I have a battery in my laptop that is starting to fail. I logged an official IT request, and had a replacement battery dropped off minutes later. If only it were that easy with my personal MacBook. 5:09pm

Smooth drive home, listening to a podcast and then catching up with my dad. Shortly after I got home, Michelle went out for a birthday dinner with her friend Tammy. 7:39pm

Michelle's replacement power supply arrived today. Quite a bargain at only $7. Her netbook is all recharged and ready for its updates. 7:44pm

While Michelle is out having a birthday dinner, Abby, the boys, and I just watched season 4 Doctor Who, "Planet of the Ood". I think it spooked Michael a bit too much. 8:25pm

Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Now I'm at Subway just waiting for Claire to finish up work. The evening closing routines take 30-60 minutes. 9:40pm
