Google+ Hangouts

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! A bit of an aggravating one as I still have baseline analog cable. Comcast technical support from a corporate level "sees" my TiVo/CableCARD. From a billing level I'm setup for "Digital Starter". But it may be that at the local office no one enabled me for that package. Was on the phone with several folks this morning before finally heading down to Boxborough, listening to an episode of Security Now, one of my favorite hard core tech podcasts, along the commute. 10:30am

Been a busy day. Worked until 6:30 trying to wrap things up for the week. Caught up with my dad on the drive north until the cell reception ran out. Then listened to the rest of Security Now the remainder of the commute. The kids had off of school for Veteran's Day and it sounds like it is getting on their nerves not having their favorite Disney and Nickelodeon channels today. I think they'll live. 7:32pm

As I was wrapping up dinner and getting caught up on my emails, I got an invitation to try Google+ Hangouts from Greg Willits of SiriusXM's The Catholics Next Door radio show. It was a good time talking about Google+ vs Facebook usage models, podcasting, their radio show, the intersection of work and personal life, etc. And afterwards Claire thought it was “so cool I was talking to someone famous”. Afterwards got the boys all tucked in bed with their prayers. 9:26pm

Video: Catvertising. Just bookmarking this because I know my kids will like this. 9:38pm
