Daniel had his followup visit with the surgeon yesterday. Everything
checked out fine, recovery-wise. Michelle will tell you, though, that
bringing four small children down to the doctor's office is no picnic!
Don't I know it! The boys were fussing most of the time that the kids
and I waited in the lobby during her visit with the dermatologist last
month.
Claire helped me watch the boys this evening while Michelle went to
the YMCA for a 5:30PM step class. Michelle is looking forward to the
time when she can bring the boys to the Kid Stop with Claire and Abby
while Michelle works out. Another month and they'll be able to watch
the boys. Claire is quite a good helper with the twins most of the
time. It makes me glad we didn't have the twins first! Lastly, both
Claire and I both had dentist visits this morning. The attendants at
the dentist office loved Claire. She was such a sweetie for them.
Again she was good at foiling the
"she's homeschooled?! How will she
develop her socialization skills?" myth.
Next week I'm briefly bailing out of work twice. It's good to work
close to home. On Monday I'll watch the kids while Michelle goes for a
dental visit. On Wednesday I'll watch them while Michelle takes Claire
to get sized up for her Infant Jesus School uniform for next
September. In a small way it'll be sad to see Claire get started in a
formal school next fall. She thrived so well here at home. The changes
we witnessed these past few years have been incredible. I think these
past two years have prepped her well though. I think the hardest
adjustment for her will be the change in environment. Academically I
feel she's well prepared.
