This will be an eclectic collection of things about this weekend. Friday was marked by significant thunderstorms in the late afternoon. When I came home on Friday after work, Michelle had me take over watching the girls while she went to do some grocery shopping. The weather forecasters were right in saying that it wasn't going to be a very pleasant weekend. It was muggy and sticky the whole time. As usual we went to the YMCA on Saturday morning. I have some engineers from Israel flying in for training next week and had a few things to do at work that would be hard to finish with that training. So after the YMCA I went in to the office for a few hours to try to get a little ahead of things. When I returned from the office we went to Mass because I had to lector that evening. When we got back from Mass we ordered some pizza and gyros from Milanos. The kids were pretty good all of Saturday, despite the weather.
Sunday was quiet by comparison. Little odds and ends but nothing major. I took some good pictures of the kids. Mom, Claire, Abby and I did some thinking games that morning. I did take Claire out to Borders bookstore during the family nap time (since Claire doesn't nap anymore...). We looked over books, CDs, and videos and topped it off with a raspberry Italian soda. I did end up buying two digital photography magazines, another book about the Gimp, and some CDs and videos for the kids. Later we took the whole family out to have a quick dinner at Taco Bell. It's one of the few places I know that the girls like and I won't be too embarrassed by the boys if they misbehave a little. Other than being a bit on the wiggly side, the boys were good there. Michelle and I wonder if they're each getting ready for their second tooth to come in. Just as insurance we gave them a dose of Tylenol before they went down for the night. We're hoping they sleep well tonight. They've been rather inconsistent in their nighttime sleep this past week. I hope the white noise of the whole house fan helps them stay "knocked out" a bit tonight.
I did speak briefly with my mom and dad this weekend. Dad is officially done at work. No mas! Retired. Congratulations, Dad! And Suzanne is now 21. I don't know which is more dangerous. Dad with a lot of free time, or Suzanne at 21?! Other than that, a boring weekend. Sorry that I don't have anything inspiring to write. With the training I have to worry about for this week, I think I'll be running around like a headless chicken.
