I heard from my mom that this picture of the boys is now on the factory floor at Radio Flyer in Chicago. Cool! Thanks to Aunt Bev for sending it to them. Let me know if they'd like a real 5x7 print.
We were outside talking with our neighbors when a delivery truck from Shirley's Flowers pulled up. My brother, Chris, and his fiance, Katie, sent a small arrangement to Claire asking her to be a flower girl in their wedding next August. Claire doesn't yet fully understand what that entails but Michelle is explaining to her now. Knowing Claire and her fascination with all things fancy and elegant, she'll love it! Michelle is currently taking Abby and Claire for a haircut while I'm here home with the napping boys.
With the whole family home this week, I took Claire to the local VideoMat to rent some movies for the week. Of course today is the debut of Cinderella II: Dreams Come True so we had to rent that. We also rented Spy Kids, Atlantis-The Lost Empire, and Pearl Harbor. That last one being meant for Michelle and me. Peter and I saw it last summer. It's pretty much a chic-flick with a historical basis. Think Titanic without Leonardo DeCaprio.
I read this interesting article entitled, "BioSpin: Why adult stem-cell research successes get downplayed by the media". He makes a pretty decent case with several examples that whenever embryonic stem cell breakthroughs occur, the major media news outlets give it bold and front page priority. Whenever similar breakthroughs occur on the adult stem cell arena, they are never reported with the same emphasis, if at all. Thus, slowly the public is growing to believe that the most promising research in stem cell research comes from discarded embryos. Sadly, it plays well into the support for abortion and cloning research. It's sad to think we may have possible breakthroughs with stem cells without getting into serious ethical dilemmas and we are overlooking them.
