There's been so much going on this past week but so little time to write about it. My memory is weak before Tuesday, but here's what I can recall.
Tuesday at lunchtime Nancy Caron came over to discuss purchasing a house and to look over what we had to sell. She liked the way we kept the house.
Wednesday after school we met with Nancy to go inside the house in Bedford that we'd like to make an offer on. Wednesday evening was RCIA for me. That night was allocated as "difficult issues" night for the team and I got to speak on abortion and contraception. I was happy to get a nice compliment from Fr. Ray for my handling of those touchy subjects.
Thursday evening was just the usual workout at the YMCA at Joanne's step class. Anyone who comes up with step aerobics moves like the "funk-adelic mombo" is a class you don't want to miss! I had also dropped off the supporting documentation for a loan pre-approval.
Friday I had a lot of issues to iron out about financing because we want to make a contingency-free offer on the house. Also Claire's class had a field trip on Friday to see a production of "Reading Rainbow" in Boston. She seemed to have liked it.
Today is Saturday, the day in which I go to Ted's morning step class. For a 50 year old, red-headed male, you'd never guess the cool combinations he comes up with: salsas, mombos, cha-cha-cha's, etc. After I get back Michelle wants to take a quick peek at two other homes in Bedford. One just popped on the market yesterday and the other is a development. The former looks like it might be smaller but less expensive. The latter, we fear, is likely to have that homogeneous development look to it: cookie cutter homes. That seems to be common with most of the homes built in the last dozen years. This evening we'll go to Infant Jesus School's Spaghetti Social. Not exactly what you would call a "date night" (since we have bring the kids) but Michelle appreciates any time that she doesn't have to cook. I think most of the moms reading this would understand that mindset.
Sunday is Saint Patrick's Day, of course, but it is also Claire's half birthday: 6 1/2 . Already! Whew! That afternoon I'm taking Claire and Abigail to see the Peacock Players' production of "Pippi Longstocking" at the American Stage Festival in Nashua. While I'm there, Michelle will be out with Nancy doing a second walk through the home in Bedford to see if there's anything to be resolved before making an offer. The house in Bedford has a potential buyer on it already but with contingencies of selling their existing home. If we make an acceptable offer to the seller without contingencies, that other buyer has 48 hours to clear up the contingency. If they cannot clear it up, the seller has the right to sell to us. It's a bit of a longshot, but not impossible. All we can do is try. In basketball you don't make 100% of the shots you don't take.
