This evening I put Adobe Photoshop Elements on the laptop and worked on the pictures that were hanging around in the camera. Enjoy pictures of me, Michelle and the kids around Halloween.
Michelle had a nice visit with her friend, Gina, yesterday. It was Gina's first visit since we moved to Milford. Later in the afternoon, Mr. Russell came by since he "was in the neighborhood" and wanted to play with the kids. Michelle thought that one of the best parts about his visit was that she could run out to pick up Claire from school (about 5 minutes away) without having to pack up the whole entourage. (grin) We are all looking forward to next week when we have some family visit for a while.
The laptop has been very cool. Typical of high technology, Apple dropped prices on their laptops two days after I bought mine. Ouch! Nonetheless, I still like it quite a bit. If I mention a few reasons why, will that tar me as a Macintosh bigot? First, it is reasonably sleek, somewhat like a Sony Vaio laptop, so you don't feel like you are "lugging" a laptop. Second, it is instant on, instant off — like a handheld Palm Pilot. You want to use it, open the screen. Your done? Fold it back shut. Simple. Third, the battery life is great. I leave it plugged in at the office. When I bring it home, I don't bother bringing the power supply. It'll run on batteries for the rest of the evening. Fourth, the standard wireless networking is built in and worked smoothly. When I open it for the first time back in the house after returning from work, it quietly says "oh, we're back home" and networks wirelessly whereas at the office it's "plugged in" the local network. I can sit in the family room after the kids go down to bed and work on pictures, like I did tonight. Fifth, like our other Mac, it's got a stable unix operating system at it's base. The only time I've rebooted it was to do major operating system updates. Sixth, I'm not running Microsoft software. I'm getting very upset at their licensing tactics. Lastly, I now don't have to compete with Abby to use the computer. (grin) OK, so that's not a technical advantage.
Enough of the evangelism — on to something silly: Top Ten Orthodox Catholic Pickup Lines. Not silly enough? How about the Dancing George Bush ? More? How about ad done by Aniken Skywalker in the style of the Apple Switch campaign ?
