Michelle had a good OB/GYN prenatal visit today. The baby is in position, head down. The estimated weight at this point is about 5 1/2 pounds. She and the doctor discussed the additional distance we have to drive to get her in to the hospital and the requirements for an epidural.
My mom pointed out that next week is a special birthday for the boys, numerologically speaking. The 2 boys will be 2 years old on the 22nd. Cute!
Tonight was the first night that both boys went to bed and fell asleep without any followup parental visits. I was out late last night due to my work, but Michelle tells me that when she walked in on them last night, they were both sleeping side by side in the same bed. She wishes she could have taken a picture. I'm sure there's a parallel there to the time before the boys were born side by side in the womb, but I'll just leave it at that.
I've put links to the most recent photo albums on the side bar. Currently they start from our August vacation and go on to this week.
I purchased a ticket for my mom to visit starting about a week before the baby's due date. Hopefully the delivery won't occur before that. Claire was about 10 days early. Abigail was right on time. The twins were also about 10 days early, but that's pretty typical in a twin situation. It would be so much more convenient if we didn't have to worry about who watches the kids while Michelle and I head to the hospital.
I'm currently trying to get the paperwork done to get a passenger side airbag on/off switch put in the van. First you must request a waiver from the National Highway and Transportation Agency (aka NHTSA, aka the government). Then you must find a mechanic/dealer willing to install the switch. Many won't install the switch due to the liability concerns. It's hard to believe it can be this hard to shut off an airbag.
Work has been a bit busy lately because we're getting ready to rollout two major products -- a new processor and a wireless networking core. More logic complexity, shorter schedule, it's the kind of thing people in support love to hear. I got a bit behind in my normal customer support role because of the additional meetings that occur as products get close to the end. Hopefully I can get caught back up tomorrow.
The kids got to play with Miss Kathy's kids this afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon Miss Anne will bring her daughters over to play. Michelle is doing what she can to keep the kids from getting cabin fever. The recent cold spell has made it too cold to let the kids play outdoors. Hopefully this Canadian cold front will pass soon and temperatures can get above freezing.
