Nostalgia purchases

Posted by Scott at 06:28 AM

Some recent discoveries:

  1. California's IN-N-OUT Burgers chain has a website, including an online store where you can buy some of their clothes. Michelle's existing IN-N-OUT T-shirts have all started to fade and wear out.
  2. RadioFlyer also has a website including an online store. We've been very happy with the wagon that Alyssa and Bev bought the twins last year but now want to buy the Wagon Trailer so that we can also pull Timothy. It looks cute.

Friday was a busy morning but fun afternoon. Once I got into work I was informed that I had about an hour to pack up because a crew was coming in to take down the cubicles. Once the offices were all packed up, there wasn't any useful work we could do. Several of the engineers headed down to La Carreta for lunch. After that most of us headed down to see the Matrix Reloaded at the movie theater in Lowell. Lowell's theaters are one of the few nearby locations that has stadium seating and a nice sound system.

Because X-Men was showing only at 7PM and 9PM, Michelle and I gave up on trying to see it. 7PM was too early (since we needed to get at least Timothy down to bed) and 9PM was too late. Instead Chris, Will, and Russell (from work) came by. We ordered pizzas, played with the kids, and later watched Ocean's Eleven. It's pretty decent but I found it slow starting -- so much so that I started dozing.

On Saturday morning Michelle had to teach step aerobics at the YMCA. We packed up all the kids and went down. The kids played at the Y's Kid Stop while I attended Michelle's class. Things went much better than last Monday since I was on hand to help Michelle with the sound system. Saturday afternoon I took the girls to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Nashua. For any nearby readers of this webpage, I highly recommend it. It's still showing next weekend. Order tickets. I've seen several shows by this production and this was one of their best.

Today we're going to Mass in split shifts since I have to lector at 10:30AM Mass. Later after lunch we will all head down to IJ's Parish Day at Alpine Grove. It should be fun but I'm a little nervous about how the boys will act with a messed up nap schedule. Update: (10:45PM) The kids all did well. They ate and later played for a few hours on the field at Alpine Grove. We didn't even hear a lot of whining when it was time to go. They must have worn themselves out.

My mini review of the Matrix Reloaded: Amazing special effects - so much so that it really starts to require too much suspension of disbelieve. Decent acting and storyline. Cute puns for people in the computer field. I could have done without the intimate scene between Neo and Trinity. Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary (and probably does...)

We hung around through the credits because they show a preview for next November's sequel. I had never seen so many credits on a movie. I think it may break a record. Seriously! It was as if they listed everyone who worked at Wright-Patterson AFB. I thought that it would be funny if they put a running total of dollars spent as the names scrolled by.

Mmmm, IN-N-OUT! My extended family lives in El Lay and we'll be visiting there next month. Nothing like a Double-Double...

Hi Jeff,

I couldn't agree more. I crave an IN-N-OUT Double Double almost as much as my home town (River Grove) hot dogs at Gene & Jude's and gyros from Squab's. In my 9 years of living in southern NH, I still haven't found good hot dogs or gyros.

Glad to see you got your website back up and operational.

I feel so dense that I didn't catch the humor! "El Lay" meaning Los Angeles. Cute! ;-)
