I took a handful of pictures today. Since it's a lazy dog day of summer, I thought I'd work on this album while the boys napped. We're going to try and go to the pool when they wake up.
Eye doctor visit - I saw the eye doctor a couple of times this past week. After the first appointment I chose some new frames and lenses. I had been wearing the same old pair for about seven years. He also gave me some sets of daily disposable contacts to try out. I found them too irratating on my eyes. I let him know so when I went for my followup exam to pick up my glasses. We briefly considered trying the even newer 30 day extended wear contact lenses but I passed. The new frames follow the more recent trend toward small, narrow lenses. These are also my first glasses to use the Transitions lenses that darken automatically in sunlight.
Holiday weekend - I have a four day weekend this Independence Day weekend. On Monday I'll pick up mom from Manchester airport. That same day Claire will head down to Noblesville to spend several days with her Aunt Gina, Uncle Jim, and cousins Garret and Carolyn.
Gameboy Player review - It's been about two weeks that we've had the Nintendo Gameboy Player module. If you have a Gameboy or Gameboy Advance, it's an easy way to play all existing games on Nintendo's GameCube television console system. If you already have a GameCube, it's a no-brainer at $50. That's about the price of a decent game cd on the GameCube anyway. It's almost surreal to see those tiny games projected on your larger television screen. The picture quality was a lot better than I had anticipated. Obviously since the GameBoy is a simpler portable system, the graphics don't compare with what the GameCube is capable of. I guess I'd say it's like looking at games on the Sega Genesis or Nintendo64 from several years ago. Nintendo uses the excess television pixels to put a nice border or "skin" around the main GameBoy frame. While Michelle had never previously used the kids' GameBoy games, she found them more interesting when she could play them via the GameCube.
Love the pictures! We should have similar ones of Kyle in the same patriotic outfit as Timothy! Kyle's been doing good- I really lucked out!
We've seen Claire almost every day. We had breakfast with her today, and then William stayed with her at Mom's house for a while.
Hope you had a nice weekend. It was way too hot here, but still enjoyable!
Love, Lys
Hi Lyss,
Glad you liked them. I really liked the ones of Timothy. He's really becoming quite the smiley baby -- and a solid one at that! This week I plan to get prints of the three most recent albums.
I look forward to seeing my newest nephew in a few more weeks. I can only imagine how much he's grown already!
It's been pretty hot here as well. We've hung out a bit inside when it's gotten too warm. Despite all the rain we had this spring, the lawn is starting to dry out and brown now. The good news is that I don't have to worry about mowing this weekend. We use our sprinklers but don't want to tax the well too much.
This afternoon we went to BestBuy to buy a television and then took the kids to BK's afterwards. They love the indoor playground there. Abby took the twins down the slide several times. It was very cute.
We're glad Claire is enjoying herself in River Grove. We hope she's good for dad on the drive down to Noblesville tomorrow. I look forward to picking mom up at the airport. I only wish I could have spent more of the four day weekend with her.
