These past 48 hours Michelle's patience has been tried, but not in the usual ways you would expect in raising five small children.
Timothy's MRI cancelled - Michelle had arranged everything for Timothy's MRI yesterday. She adjusted his naps so that they would align better with the trip to the hospital. She arranged for kid sitting for the other four children. About a half an hour before she was going to walk out the door, the hospital called to let her know that no one had scheduled anesthesia for Timothy. Because of the excessive noise of an MRI and the requirement to be still, Timothy needs to be sedated before the MRI can occur. End result: MRI is being rescheduled.
Pool deferred - So instead of going to Nashua, Michelle opted to take the kids to a park for a while. She mentioned that they would probably go to the pool after lunch. After lunch Abby's friend, Madison, came over so Michelle postponed heading to the pool until the next day.
Lamb-y forgotten - This morning Michelle drove the kids to the YMCA so she could attend an aerobics class. As she was dropping off the kids at their KidStop, she noticed that Michael snuck his stuffed lamb in from the car. She usually tries to leave the lamb in the car so that it won't be left behind. Sure enough, when she was half way home she realized that Michael had indeed left his lamb at the YMCA. She called me when she got home and asked me to stop by the YMCA at lunch. The moms that worked there laughed quite knowingly as I stopped in to pick up the lamb.
Pool closed - So then this afternoon Michelle decided to fulfill her promise to take the kids to the Milford pool. She got them all prepared in their swimsuits and swim diapers (where appropriate). She drove them to the park. Loaded them up in the stroller and walked them in from the parking lot. She handed over our pool passes to the attendant and signed them in. They all enter the main pool area only to discover that the kids pool is temporarily closed due to too much chlorine. She has to turn everything around and try to console the kids for the entire ride home.
All in all Michelle was in pretty good spirits by the time I got home. One disappointment after another. I was amazed that she got over all these setbacks as well as she did.
