Which picture?

Posted by Scott at 06:24 AM

Thumbnail of MichelleDesktop picture - Timothy started crying fairly early this morning -- a little past 4AM. I took a couple of pictures of Michelle yesterday and I want to make one into a 5x7 for my work desk. Since I couldn't sleep, I worked on prepping both pictures. I'm not sure which one I should have printed. Which one do you think looks better: version A or version B? These links break my usual policy against opening new windows because the pictures should be compared side by side.

Updated [9:30PM] - Claire's school photo arrived this afternoon.

I think I like Version B better. Which does Michelle like?
Did Michelle tell you Cassidy got her birthday card from you guys yesterday? The Post Office lost if for 10 months, but it was a welcome surprise for Cass yesterday!

I asked 3 people on my office and they also preferred version B. Michelle rarely likes any picture of herself. I'd wager that she wouldn't even like the results of going to "Glamour Shots" (are they even still around??). People are pretty critical of their own looks. I guess it's like hearing your own voice on a recording.

I tend to lean towards B myself. I took A first and then asked her to not tilt her head and open her eyes a bit more. She and Claire tend to smile so brightly that it squints their eyes.

Yes, I heard about the late birthday card last night. Did you notice that it's 60 days until Cassidy's next birthday? It reminds me of some baby shower where Michelle sent out a bunch of thank-you cards that never made it to RG. I don't remember whether it was for the birth of Claire or the twins or... but mom asked about it a few months later and Michelle was mad and horrified that people didn't get them after all the effort she made to be prompt about the cards. Also we recently had our garbage pickup temporarily suspended because we didn't pay our bill for two months. But we also didn't get a bill for two months. I'm starting to think we should move as much as possible to direct payment. Hey, if you like the postal service, you'll love nationalized health care.

Man! I opened this individual entry page within Internet Explorer (IE) version 6 and IE has major rendering bugs on this page. The text is there but is often invisible until you try to select it with the text cursor. It's been an IE bug for some time but Microsoft refuses to fix it. Every other browser gets it right. I don't mind minor edits to accomodate IE, but failing to render some text at all is just one of those cases where I say "Microsoft, you are the problem, not me!" If you see major white areas where there should be text, blame them. In the mean time, click and drag your cursor over it and it should show up.
