PacMan - Yesterday we got a disc for our GameCube called Namco Museum. I ordered it for Michelle from Amazon because she enjoyed PacMan as a kid. The disc also included Ms. PacMan (shown at right), Galaga, Dig Dug, and Pole Position. I'm almost certain that it works via hardware emulation as the reproduction is flawless - the cheesy graphics and simple sounds. It was fun explaining to Claire that when we were a little older than her, this was "state of the art". It's not unlike when I used to hear my folks talk about the transition to color television. Nevertheless, Abby and Claire have enjoyed playing a few of these old arcade classics.
Timothy - It's that time again. Time to put a gate across the stairs to block access to the upstairs. Timothy has now figured out how to climb up the stairs. As with the previous four children, the worry now is about whether he knows how to get back down as well as what trouble he can get into when he's up there by himself.
Local News - It is still wicked cold out. When I drove to work this morning it was -4°F. I hope it warms up a bit before my friend, Dan, arrives on Sunday. I'd like to be able to do some sledding in the back yard with him and the kids. The funny story of the day is that Killington, VT (known for it's great ski resort) wants to secede from Vermont and become a part of New Hampshire due to tax issues.
